‘Obscene dance’ show: 9 held

A birthday bash on Sunday night turned sour when the night beat of Parwada police station conducted a raid at a private guesthouse near NTPC Simhadri Power plant in Parwada mandal and arrested three organisers and six dancers on the charge of performing obscene dance. .

A financier from Anakapalle, Y. Chakravarthi, organised a cocktail party on the occasion of his birthday at the guesthouse and allegedly brought six dancers from Krishna and East and West Godavari to pep up the party mood.

According to Parwada Inspector BVR Murthy, the dancers were performing obscene dance and hence they were arrested. Apart from Mr. Chakravarthi and the six dancers, two financiers from Anakapalle were arrested.

The police were said to be making a list of all those who had attended the birthday bash.
