November 19, 2014 01:32 am | Updated 01:32 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

A 19-year-old, first-year student of B.Sc. (Nursing) of a private nursing college in Sangivalasa allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the college building on Monday morning. The boy has been admitted to ICU in King George Hospital with serious injuries and is said to be in serious condition.

The student has been identified as G. Prasanth, son of G. Simhachalam and resident of Parvathipuram mandal in Vizianagaram district.

The police are yet to book a case. But it is learnt that there two versions to it. While one suggests that the student took the extreme step due to alleged ragging in the college, the other say that it was due to some family problem.
