Two students of Nalanda Talent School here, V.S.P. Abhishek and R. Sri Krishna clinched the top prize in the all-India annual Texas Instrument Science and Technology quiz for high school students held in Bangalore on Sunday.
Abhishek and Sri Krishna bettered their rivals from Delhi, Kolkota, Chennai, Pune, and Bangalore in the all-India final. Earlier they qualified from the Zonal final held in Kolkota in which 180 schools participated. This is for the first time that a school from Andhra has won this competition, according to a press release form the school. The Texas Instrument started the quiz in 2003 to foster the spirit of innovation and inquisitiveness among the school children.
The NST duo has won many competitions in the past. They were first in the VUDA quiz, second in the Dr. K.V. Rao State-level science qui and was selected for the Limca Book of Records all-India event to be held on December 13.
Deputy Director of NTS P. Pulla Rao congratulated Abhishek and Sri Krishna on their achievement.
