NTPC Simhadri to set up napkin vending machines at schools

Swacchata Pakawada observed at all NTPC locations and in its vicinities from May 16 concluded at NTPC Simhadri, Deepanjalinagar on Wednesday, with the distribution of sanitary napkins among students at AP Residential School, Thanam.

NTPC Simhadri will spend ₹10 lakh under CSR for installation of napkin vending machines and incinerator machines for disposal of used napkins at 10 government schools and two junior colleges in Parawada mandal.

NTPC Simhadri conducted various programmes during the Swachhata Pakawada to promote cleanliness and hygiene. At the napkins presentation programme held at Thanam, Group General Manager Arup Rattan Maiti underlined the importance of women empowerment.

He said NTPC Simhadri would soon provide sanitary napkins through vending machines at very nominal price to all girls students in Parwada mandal.

Saroj Chellluri, General Manager (TS), V. Shiva Prasad, AGM (HR) and other Women employees of NTPC were present. Teachers from Thanam, Vadacheepurupalley, Mettapalem, Parawada, Pinnamadaka and Lankalapalem attended along with their students.
