Filing of nominations continued on the fourth day on Thursday with nominees of the main political parties arriving with their supporters to the Collector’s office.

Aam Admi Party joined the fray with Kuna Ramam filing the papers for the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha. Accompanied by the party’s Assembly candidates, he filed the papers without any fanfare.

He said they were asking party founder Arvind Kejriwal to address a meeting here but it was not confirmed.

As a part of campaign, the party men travel by train from Visakhapatnam to Nellore and Hyderabad interacting with a large number of people and distributing one lakh pamphlets.

Congress Rajya Sabha member T. Subbarami Reddy accompanied the party’s nominee for Visakhapatnam East constituency Prabha Goud. He said there was no truth in the talk doing the rounds that Congress suffered a setback because of bifurcation of the State. He criticised TDP for its alliance with the ‘communal’ BJP.

Ms. Goud said compared to the other parties, Congress gave pride of place to women by allotting three constituencies in the city to the fair sex. She accused TDP leader N.Chandrababu Naidu of paving the way for the bifurcation of the State by giving a letter and then changing tack for the sake of power. City Congress president Behera Bhaskara Rao was present.

TDP’s V. Ramakrishnababu, seeking re-election from Visakhapatnam East, filed his papers.
