GVMC has not given permission for any one to collect parking fee for vehicles, except near Poorna market, where also the collection would be stopped soon, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana said on Saturday.

Though the Collector has given permission to collect parking fee at R. K. Beach, the fee will not be collected there also, he said.

Several people told the Commissioner, while he was calling them from the GVMC Call Centre to verify if their complaints lodged in the past were attended to, that collection of parking fee in different places reached harassment stage and wanted to know if the Corporation authorised some persons to collect the fee.

Mr. Satyanarayana immediately instructed the Zone Commissioners over wireless that collection of parking fee at MVP colony, Seetammadhara, Maddilapalem, Jagadamba junction, Dabagardens, Dwaraka Nagar and some other places must be stopped immediately and strong action, including filing of police cases, must be taken against those collecting parking fee.
