DIG releases provisional seniority list to ensure transparency
In a bid to bring in transparency in police administration in the district DIG Visakha Range Swati Lakra released Provisional Seniority List of Civil Police and District Armed Reserve in Visakhapatnam on New Year day.
The two separate lists compiled by Superintendent of Police Visakhapatnam Rural G Srinivas have all the details of officers and personnel which would go a long way in establishing the seniority and clear the air on when promotions are due, the DIG said while releasing the book at New Year celebrations organised in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
Each of the police personnel would be given a copy of the first-of-its kind compilation, she said. She urged all the police personnel to check the details and in case of any discrepancy to bring it to the notice of the officials in 30 days.
The list would be updated and published annually providing data about the personnel that includes batch, rank, date of birth, date of appointment, date of B-list, scale of pay, awards, education, social status, present post apart from the ubiquitous mobile number.
This would clear the air about the seniority vis-a-vis his/her colleagues and also ensure that some unscrupulous elements do not cheat them or deny them their dues, the SP said.
The two separate lists, one for civil police and the other for District Armed Reserve, would go a long way in helping the career growth of the police personnel, the DIG said.
Once the seniority is established the personnel need not have any apprehensions about the promotions and need not take up avoidable litigations on the subject, the SP said. A calendar was also released on the occasion. The specially designed calendar listed out the achievements of the district police over the year along with relevant months.
