New international flights sought from city

Lok Sabha Member from Visakhapatnam Kambhampati Haribabu has written to Union Minister of Civil Aviation Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju seeking new international sectors from Vizag.

On a representation received from K.V. Mohan of the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra, the MP sent the proposals for dedicated Air India flight on the Vijayawada-Vizag-Bangkok, Bangkok-Vizag-Vijayawada-Dubai and vice versa daily and on the Colombo-Vizag-Colombo sector thrice a week. The association sought the new flights based on the load factor for the last two years. They suggested a tentative timetable for the proposed Air India turn around flight to Bangkok and Dubai as:

8 a.m. Vijayawada departure, 8.45 a.m. Visakhapatnam arrival, 10 a.m. departure to Bangkok, 2.15 p.m. arrival at Bangkok (local time), 4 p.m. departure at Bangkok (local time), 5.30 p.m. arrival in Vizag (local time), 6.30 p.m. departure from Vizag, 7.15 p.m. arrival in Vijayawada, 8.15 p.m.departure from Vijayawada, 11 p.m. arrival in Dubai (local time), 00.30 departure from Dubai (local time) and 6.30 a.m. arrival in Vijayawada (local time). Mr. Haribabu appealed to the Civil Aviation Minister to consider the proposal and initiate necessary action keeping in view the load factors from the respective cities during the last two years.
