APTDC planning to introduce an all-terrain vehicle
The scenic and lush settings of Rushikonda will soon offer several added entertainment features for tourists and visitors.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is planning to introduce an all-terrain vehicle in the Rushikonda beach. “The trial run for the vehicle was done last week. We will be launching it shortly,” A Srinivas, General Manager (Hotels) of APTDC, told The Hindu. The all-terrain vehicle will be an added attraction for tourists, after the APTDC boat rides were stopped at Rushikonda last year.
The corporation also has plans to improve the facilities in the beach and beautify the spot.
There are plans to include shower cubicles, sun bath decks, landscaping, pathways and foot courts.
“It's all in a nascent stage. The beach is one of the most beautiful spots in the city, but needs to be developed properly,” Mr. Srinivas said.
Rushikonda also has good options for water sports activities like sea surfing.
The sea being relatively safer is a preferred spot by many water sports enthusiasts. To attract tourists and offer more entertainment options, APTDC has initiated new projects in its Jungle Bells resorts at Tyda. Adventure sports activities in collaboration with an adventure sports association called ‘Freekouts' from Bangalore have been started at Tyda.
Several adventure sports activities like rope balancing, rock climbing, trampoline and zorbing are conducted at Tyda.
