Naik takes over as CMD of APEPDCL

M. M. Naik, a 2005 batch IAS officer, took over as Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL here on Wednesday. He is the ninth CMD since the formation of the discom. He succeeds R. Mutyala Raju who has been posted District Collector of Nellore.

Interacting with the media after taking charge, Mr. Naik said the focus would be on 24/7 power for all, more power to the agriculture sector and supply of quality power. “We would take forward all the schemes and projects initiated by the government and get closer to the consumers,” he said.

He also pointed out that special attention would be paid to Deen Dayal Upadhaya Grameen Jyoti Yojna to fulfil the promise of covering every tribal and rural hamlet. “A major part of the areas have been covered in West Godavari and Vizianagaram and the gaps that are remaining in Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam will be filled shortly,” he said.

Directors B. Seshu Kumar and T.V.S. Chandrasekhar, Executive Director B. Ramesh Prasad, and CGMs P.V.V. Satyanarayana, K.S.N. Murty, P. Nageswara Rao, O. Simhadri, V. Vijayalalitha, G. Srinivasa Reddy, A.V. Suryanarayanarao and other senior officers met the new CMD.
