Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu is creating a false wave of support for his party by wooing as many leaders from other parties, particularly the Congress but this would not fetch him any electoral benefit, member of YSR Congress Central governing council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao said.

Afraid of elections and the defeat he would face, Mr. Naidu was admitting leaders from the Congress but this would be counter productive, party’s credentials are lost and even his own party men would be feeling bad since their leader and themselves were blaming the Congress for the last 10 years, Mr. Veerabhadra Rao while talking to The Hindu .

“Initially we also thought this would be a plus point for him but now it is not so. He cannot sustain the speed and additionally if he goes for an alliance with the BJP he would lose the minority votes. What he believes as a plus point would become a minus point,” the YSR Congress leader said.

To counter TDP campaign

Mr. Veerabhadra Rao said Mr. Naidu will not succeed in in convincing people that he alone can develop Seemandhra, conceding that his party has to counter the TDP campaign. What development Mr. Naidu has achieved during his tenure, Mr. Rao asked and slammed his rule as a bureaucratic government as not a democratic government. A village sarpanch could not get a ration card issued to an applicant and everything was controlled by the officers, who in turn acted according to the whims and fancies of Mr. Naidu, said Mr. Rao, a senior leader and Minister during Telugu Desam rule. “Mr. Naidu behaved like an officer,” he said.

The Janmabhoomi programme was purely an official show and content of all teleconferences were far away from reality. Development was only witnessed in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills and rural areas were neglected.

Mr. Naidu was now talking about developing Seemandhra as another Singapore and latest was he was referring Germany, Mr. Rao said adding that Mr. Naidu was always telling lies and has no stability.
