Mutyalapapa to join YSR Congress tomorrow

Narsipatnam MLA Bolem Mutyalapapa of the Congress has at last set the date for joining the YSR Congress. She and other members of the Bolem family, that wields a lot of influence in the mandal, and its supporters will join YSR Congress on March 22 in the presence of party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Ms. Mutyalapapa, her husband Venkata Ramana Murthy, twice MPP of Narsipatnam, and others would go to the place wherever Mr. Jagan is available on that day and join the party. She was reportedly promised party ticket for Assembly elections. Her joining the party was delayed as she had not been assured of the ticket in the past and also her wish to be party’s candidate for the Zilla Parishad Chairperson post had not been conceded.

The Bolem family had been a strong support base for Telugu Desam politburo member Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu in the Narsipatnam Assembly segment till the 2009 elections when the Congress party weaned away the family from Mr. Patrudu, who was elected five times to the Assembly from Narsipatnam and once to Lok Sabha from the Anakapalle constituency.

A long time rival of Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu, he contested as Praja Rajyam candidate in 2009 elections.
