Municipal and Public Health engineers will go on a mass casual leave for three days from Thursday.
This follow a decision taken at the meeting of Seemandhra JAC of the A P Municipal Engineering Services and Association of Public Health and Municipal Engineers held at Vijayawada on September 20.
The mass casual leave is resorted as the Central Government made no public announcement in favour of Samaikyandhra till now though the agitation over the bifurcation of the State by millions of people is going on for more than 50 days.
The notice addressed to the Principal Secretary, MA & UD, was also submitted to Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana by the JAC convener and GVMC Superintendent Engineer D. Marianna.
All the assistant engineers, assistant executive engineers, deputy executive engineers, executive engineers, SEs and Chief Engineers of Public Health and Municipal Engineering Departments looking after water supply, UGD, street lighting, public works and project work duties will go on leave and the departmental SIM cards will be handed over to officials.
All the street lights in the urban local bodies in zones 1,2, 3 and 4 will not be attended on September 28, the notice adds.
The Gajuwaka Bar Association on Wednesday demanded that the Central Government give up its adamant attitude and asserted that the agitation would continue till an announcement on Samaikyandhra was made. Relay fasts by the association members entered 24 day on Wednesday.
