MP consoles fire victims, assures help

Vizianagaram MP Botcha Jhansi on Sunday announced that a community hall would be constructed at Penapam in G.Sigadam mandal to help fire victims.

In a fire in the village on June 17, 65 houses were destroyed and an 18-year-old girl, Adilakhmi, died.

During a visit to the village she assured all possible assistance including houses under Indira Awas Yojana and levelling of the ground to remove the remnants of the burnt houses.

She also promised assistance under Indira Kranti Padham and SJRY for social investment and individual loans.

She instructed the tehsildar to arrange temporary shelter for a fortnight.

Ms. Jhansi gave away a cheque for Rs.1 lakh to Adilakshmi's father.

Utensils distributed

She gave away utensils and clothes donated by M.D.K.V. Nageswara Rao of Sitamahalskshmi poultry at Palakhandyam.

Etcherla MLA Misala Nilakantham Naidu participated.
