Winding up a whirlwind tour of Seemandhra, BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi will address a public meeting at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium on Thursday evening.

He will address the meeting along with alliance partner and TDP’s president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena founder and actor Pawan Kalyan who announced his support for Mr. Modi’s prime ministership.

Mr Modi is the only national leader to schedule a major public meeting so far in Visakhapatnam that acquired significance after bifurcation for being the biggest city.

Though AICC president Sonia Gandhi scheduled a meeting at Visakhapatnam it was cancelled and shifted to Guntur.

Mr. Modi will arrive by a special flight from Bhimavaram, accompanied by Mr. Naidu and Mr Pawan Kalyan, at 6 p.m.

He will reach the venue by VIP Road, Circuit House, Jagadamba Junction and Town Kotha Road at 6.20 p.m.

During the one-hour programme, the three will address the meeting. Mr. Modi will later leave by a special flight.

BJP leaders said around 20,000 VIP and VVIP passes were issued.

Besides seating for 25,000, the galleries can accommodate 40,000 and those standing may account for another 20,000. “Overall we are expecting that about one lakh will attend,” a leader said.

Four CCTV screens will be arranged to enable those outside view the meeting.
