MMTC to open more retail outlets

The public sector MMTC has plans to open about three to five outlets in its Visakhapatnam region in the next three or four months. Announcing this at a media conference here on Friday, MMTC Deputy General Manager R.K. Arvind said that it was also planning to open a Hallmarking unit in the city.

Mr. Arvind said that MMTC aimed at protecting consumer rights and make sure that the common man enjoyed the luxury of possessing precious metals. Towards this, it had devised gold and silver medallions of 999 purity and silver ware of different varieties are sold under the brand name Sanchi with 92.5 per cent purity.

Akshaya Tritiya being a great festival of prosperity, MMTC was offering guaranteed quality products through its 12 outlets in the city besides in Rajahmundry, Kakinada,a Vijayawada, Guntur, Hanumakonda and Vizianagaram. In Vizianagaram, the offer is open on May 16, 17 and 19, he said.

Senior Manager K. Durga Prasad was also present.
