Telugu Desam Party MLA representing Visakhapatnam East Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu proposes to take up a number of social activities to mark the death anniversary of the party founder N.T. Rama Rao.

Addressing the media, the MLA announced that the party leaders from his constituency would be taking up activities for nine days starting January 18, the death anniversary.

The activities include distribution of sewing machines, tricycles, garbage pickup rickshaws and irons.

The party leaders during the course of mass contact programme – Intintinki Telugu Desam – had found that the government and the GVMC had failed to distribute assets to many of the eligible persons.

In an effort to reach out to the public and empower them, the party leaders would distribute assets like sewing machines to women, iron boxes to washermen, garbage pickup rickshaws to sanitary workers, and tricycles to the physically challenged persons.

The MLA proposes to organise kabaddi tournament at China Waltair from 18 to 20.

He also plans to distribute uniforms to 1,200 auto drivers, gym equipment to youth associations on the occasion.

The party activists shall also organise ‘annadanams’ in every ward and also distribute saris to poor women to mark the day.
