Miscreants attacked the farm house of TDP leader Khumba Ravibabu at Araku Valley on Wednesday morning and burnt some pieces of furniture.

Dr. Ravibabu was allotted party ticket for Araku Valley Assembly constituency after he left YSR Congress and joined the TDP a few days ago. There was resentment among local leaders and cadre of the TDP about the ticket being given to Dr. Ravibabu.

According to a complaint filed by watchman of the farm house Malleswara Rao with the police, 15 persons came to the farm house and wanted to congratulate Dr. Ravibabu on being allotted the party ticket. After entering the farm house, they poured petrol on a sofa set, chairs, and double cot, and set them on fire. This happened at around 9 a.m. The miscreants did not appear to be locals, said the watchman.

At a press conference here in the evening, Dr. Ravibabu dismissed the incident as an emotional outburst and he was not worrying much about that.

Dr. Ravibabu said he would coordinate with all leaders like MLA Siveri Soma.

Supporters of Mr. Soma staged a rally at Araku Valley, protesting against denial of party ticket to the MLA.
