Knowledge component in the park also being mulled: Ganta Srinivasa Rao

A proposal to set up a mini planetarium in the YSR-VUDA Central Park is under active consideration, Minister for Investment and Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said.

Speaking after inaugurating the external jogging track at the park on Thursday, he said that a knowledge component in the sprawling park is also being considered.

The technical studies required would be taken up by the VUDA.

Range of attractions

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the park being developed at a cost of Rs.35 crore would offer a wide range of attractions. So far works worth Rs.10 crore have been completed. VUDA has worked out an elaborate plan for improving greenery in the park.

The external track will be lined by 720 avenue trees on either side and all over the park, 2,000 saplings will be planted. Entry to the jogging track is free irrespective of whether one goes into the park or not.

The minister revealed that in view of the likelihood of the Chief Minister’s visit on June 23, VUDA Foundation Day would be scheduled for the day.
