On Sunday evening the Beach Road was a chock-a-block, thanks to the pre-release function of actor Ram Charan upcoming movie ‘Rangasthalam’.
The entire cast of the film, including lead pair Ram Charan and Samantha and also mega star Chiranjeevi, was present at the show at the RK beach and all roads leading to the venue were full with mega fans throwing traffic out of gear which caused immense hardship to hundreds of tourists, residents of the area and vehicle drivers.
Though the mood was electrifying among fans, there was huge resentment among the general public and tourists, as they were put into a lot of inconvenience, due to the jam-packed crowd and the traffic police imposing a number of restrictions.
Sunday is a one day when both the tourists and the locals go to RK Beach to enjoy the evening and they had to undergo a lot of hardship because of the event, said Visakhapatnam (South) MLA Vasupalli Ganesh.
After receiving a number of complaints from the public against the traffic restriction on the beach road on Sunday, the MLA has written to the Commissioner of Police T. Yoganand and the district administration not to allow such private events, especially on weekends when thousands of people with their family hit the beach road and nearby areas to spend the evening.
“Many people from different parts of the city and tourists who visited with a lot of enthusiasm had to find only restrictions and had to return disappointed,” said the MLA.
Suggesting that no big public events be allowed on the beach road at weekends to ensure unrestricted access to public and tourists.
The residents staying along the beach road have also been complaining of the traffic restrictions owing to various events, he said.
