A 40-year-old man was allegedly murdered by some unidentified persons.

Though the incident took place two days ago, it came to light on Monday only after the semi-decomposed body of the man was found by locals near Kasipuram area under V. Madugula police station limits in the district. The culprits smashed the man’s face with a boulder probably to hide identity of the victim.

Visakhapatnam rural police visited the crime scene along with dog squad but they didn’t get any clue.

The cops are suspecting that the man was strangled to death and later his face was smashed by the offenders.

The body was shifted to government hospital for post mortem and the police have registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC and investigation is on.
