Man held on charge of sending obscene e-mails

The Cyber Crime police arrested a 35-year-old man on the charge of sending obscene e-mails and pictures to the daughter of a businessman in the city.

The accused called the girl from his mobile phone and introduced himself as M.M. Raja Srinivasa Rao.

He also downloaded her photos, letters, greeting cards from her Facebook account. Based on the mobile number, the accused was located at an apartment complex on the beach road, where he was working as a manager, Cyber Crime Inspector Ch. Penta Rao said on Saturday.

Srinivasa Rao is a native of Gandredu village of Pedapudi mandal in East Godavari district.

He lost his parents during his childhood. He did his M.Sc. and Ph.D from Andhra University.

He is working as manager of the apartment complex and the complainant is staying in the neighbouring apartment complex.

Srinivasa Rao befriended the girl during evening walks and searched her Facebook account by entering her name and then downloaded her photos without her consent.

He frequently sent abusive messages to her Facebook account.
