Activists of Lok Satta Party took out a rally in the city on Saturday asking the government to make public the details of report submitted by Anti-Corruption Bureau on liquor syndicate.

The activists also staged a dharna in front of the Excise Department office near Dr. V.S. Krishna Government College for sometime demanding stringent action against members of liquor syndicate. They raised slogans seeking seizure of the properties of liquor syndicate and excise officials who were hand-in-glove with the liquor mafia.

They alleged that politicians including MLAs belonging to all major parties were actively involved in the syndicate and they were being allowed to go scot-free because of support from the government.

LSP city vice-president Naidu Venugopal said when auction of liquor shops were conducted in 2010, they had opposed it demanding total prohibition.

Liquor consumption was ruining the life of several people belonging to lower and middle classes.
