Major portion of debris of collpased cooling tower cleared

Seventy per cent of debris from the collapsed cooling tower of HPCL Visakh Refinery was removed to the designated locations on Sunday.

A HPCL official said they were expecting to clear the debris within a few days.

The blast in the refinery on August 23 led to the collapse of seawater cooling tower killing 25 persons.

Among the survivors, eight were undergoing treatment in various corporate hospitals in the city and seven at National Burns Centre in Mumbai.
