December 13, 2014 12:39 am | Updated 12:39 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The owner of the house in which an LPG cylinder blast occurred on December 9 succumbed to burns here on Friday taking the toll to two.

A two-month-old baby girl died and 15 others, four of them critically, were injured. The blast occurred in a house in Rangireeju Street in the Old Town area.

K. Easwar (40), the owner of the house, sustained over 90 per cent burns and died after battling for life for over 48 hours at his home.

According to a senior doctor from the Seven Hills Hospital, where he was shifted from KGH on the advice of District Collector N. Yuvaraj, the victim was discharged and taken away by his relatives against the medical advice of the doctors.

A relative informed The Hindu that Easwar Rao was badly injured and his recovery was next to impossible. Easwar’s last wish was to die at his home. Because of it, he was moved to his house at about 2 p.m. and he breathed his last at around 4 p.m., said the relative.

Three other victims, Santamma and Suribabu, who suffered over 80 per cent burns, and Pujitha, who sustained about 60 per cent burns, are still in critical condition.
