Special Chief Secretary (Sports) L.V. Subrahmanyam has opined that the district authorities should look for land on the outskirts of the city for construction of the proposed Integrated Sports Complex to overcome delays in the grounding of the project.

The Special Chief Secretary held discussions with the Collector Pravin Kumar, VUDA Vice Chairman Basant Kumar, Joint Collector G. Srijana and other officials at the Collectorate here on Monday. He asked the officials to look for alternative sites for the project as land acquisition at the proposed site at Gandigundam was being delayed.

There were also plans to set up a special sports training centre at Kommadi. Anandapuram Tehsildar Eswara Rao explained about the availability of government land for the proposed sports complex. Another tehsildar Bhaskar Reddy showed the land availability through Google maps.

DSD0 June Gallyot, VUDA Estate Officer Vasanta Rayudu, VUDA Chief Urban Planner Bhavani Shankar and trainee Collector Smita Singh were present.
