The first phase of a multi-modal logistic park that offers integrated logistic solution to exim trade is set to be inaugurated here on Friday.
The facility is being developed by the Container Corporation of India (Concor) at Viman Nagar opposite the airport, according to Concor Senior General Manager G.R Seshagiri Rao.
The park, the first of a series being developed by the Concor all over the country, will come up on a hundred-acre site at Viman Nagar and the total investment may be around Rs. 370 crore. The project is expected to give a great boost to the exim trade in the state, especially with the prospect of a number of projects coming up in the State.
The project will offer integrated logistical solutions to the trade, not only in Andhra Pradesh, but also in the neighbouring state of Odissa and Chattisgarh as they make use of the Visakhapatnam port and the Gangavaram port. The railways is building up multiple railway sidings in the park and the other necessary infrastructure. There will be facilities for handling refrigerated containers necessary for the aqua and pharma sectors.
