Little ‘Krishnas' and ‘gopikas' dressed in colourful grand attires participated in the Janmashtami celebrations conducted at Siva Sivani Public School on Tuesday.

Some 50 children from kindergarten and primary classes took part in the grand event. The place was teeming with bubbly kids painted blue with flute in hand and the unmistakable peacock feather on the head, little dhotis and smiling faces. The ‘gopikas' danced around the little ‘Krishnas' and presented a delightful festive milieu. The excitement was high when the kids were teased with the swinging pot of butter, which they finally managed to break with great exuberance.

It was a little horde of naughty Krishnas. The teachers had to keep an eye on the naughty ones, who were oblivious to what was happening around and started to pull out the decorations. Later, students of higher classes also performed dances to celebrate the occasion.
