Keeping the therapeutic benefits of laughter in view, Global Aid, a voluntary organisation that empowers differently-abled persons, is gearing up to impart a six-day leadership development programme ‘Joy of Laughter Week’, starting September 22.

The session aims at building awareness on the impact of humour; equip the students, professionals, businessmen and housewives with much-needed life skills and advocate the concept of ‘laughing leadership’. Experts will share insights on how sense of humour offers the much-needed respite from stress and provide inputs on adopting a wit-filled leadership style that can be implemented in our daily lives. This apart, to promote the concept of healthy eating, some of the sessions also comprise organic food counters.

Work-life balance, emotional intelligence, humour-filled communication skills, simple relaxation techniques are some of the topics that will be covered under the module.

“In our stress-filled lives, we often forget to laugh. In order to educate people on the multiple benefits of leading a humorous life that helps boost our energy levels and enhance our productivity, we intend to reach out to as many as possible and bring back that smile on their faces which had been lost due to varied reasons,” says Sai Padma, founder-president of Global Aid.

In collaboration with the Bangalore-based firm Hasovan and Avinashh-natural and alternative systems for health and healing, the event is being organised at various centres across the city.
