Kutikuppala gets Lions award

Marking its centenary celebrations, Lions Club International, Visakhapatnam South, presented national award to physician Kutikuppala Surya Rao at the regional conference held at T.L.N. Sabha Hall, Andhra University, on Sunday.

The award was given to Dr. Surya Rao, a recipient of the Padma Shri, in recognition of his service.

The physician has been treating HIV-affected persons for more than a couple of decades and rendering service to the needy patients.

The award included a memento, a citation and a shawl.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Surya Rao said that he was honoured to receive the award.

Region chairperson of Lions Club Ramesh Duvvada stated that the board of directors of the club unanimously nominated Dr. Surya Rao for the award selection.
