Kiran to open model school

On the second day of his visit to the district on Monday, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will inaugurate a model school at Tegada in Kasimkota mandal.

The Chief Minister will interact with parents and students after inaugurating the school.

Later, at Kotturu, he will inaugurate the new Anakapalli revenue division complex. He will lay the foundation for a sports stadium to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.2.1 crore in 7.68 acres of land. He will address a public meeting to mark the Education Fortnight.

The school building that comprises girls hostel was constructed at a cost of Rs.4.31 crore in a five-acre site. Model schools have also been sanctioned for Narsipatnam, Ravikamatam, Cheedikada, and Munagapaka mandals in the district.

Models schools are funded by the Central government with the objective of providing quality education in English medium to students in rural areas. Besides computer education, the schools will impart training in music, arts, heritage, and yoga. It will have playground, arts block, and library. Medical examinations will be conducted regularly. Students lagging behind will be covered in bridge courses and special tutoring will be provided in English, maths, and science.
