Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is only making brief halts in Visakhapatnam or the district, and a tour seems to be jinxed.

Indiramma Baata programmes have been cancelled. Recently, he made another stopover to attend the marriage of the daughter of APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana.

One expected that Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy would not fail to visit the district this time. He was scheduled to interact with flood-affected farmers of P.S. Peta area in Chodavaram mandal, but it didn't happen. A delayed start of his tour to the flood-affected areas in the State saw him reaching Tuni in East Godavari late in the afternoon. By then, it was becoming dark and hopping around by a helicopter was not possible. Thus, he was forced to skip the area and take a road route to reach Visakhapatnam to take a flight back to Hyderabad. While coming to Visakhapatnam, Mr. Kiran stopped for a few minutes at Elamanchili and Payakaraopeta.

He was able to make a brief halt at Penugollu Dharmavaram in S. Rayavaram mandal, one of the inundated villages, where he assured the villagers that a retaining wall would be built to prevent flood waters of the Varaha entering the village.

Thus, the Chief Minister could not tour the district as planned yet again.
