Kanyasulkam to be staged on Nov. 30

Gurajada Appa Rao’s legendary play ‘Kanyasulkam’ will be staged on November 30 and a two-day Ghantasala music festival on December 3 and 4 at Vysakhi Jala Udyanavanam (VJU) at Suryabagh here.

The play would be staged by K. V. Memorial Arts Association and Creative Comedy Club to pay tributes to the writer on his 99th death anniversary, managing director of Vaisakhi Function Halls U. Nagabhushan Patnaik told reporters.

About 35 artistes will play different roles under the direction of P. Siva Prasad, secretary of K. V. Memorial Arts Association. The two-day Ghantasala music festival will be organised commemorating the 93rd birth anniversary of singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao. T. Govind and his team of Ghantasala Sangeeta Kalasala will present the programme on the two days. Entry and parking are free for the two programmes. General secretary of Creative Comedy Club Meda Mastan Reddy, secretary of K V Memorial Arts Association P. Siva Prasad, president of Visakha Humour Club Ravi Gopi Krishna and managing partner of VJU Chittibabu were present.
