District Legal Services Authority secretary and senior civil judge S. Damodara Rao on Saturday directed Superintendent of King George Hospital to provide immediate medical treatment to Chakali Appalaraju, 54, a resident of Priyadarsini Old Age Home, who was allegedly denied treatment on ground of not having ration card for Arogyasri treatment.

The order was issued after Appalaraju approached DLSA for treatment. Consequent upon this, para legal volunteers M. Kavya Sudha and M. Bhagyasri were deputed by DLSA judge for his treatment.

The judge directed Urban Mandal Reveneu Officer to find out status of Appalaraju.

President of Forum of Legal Professionals Kuppili Muralidhar under whom the para legal volunteers were assigned, gave guidelines to work for the cause of poor people.
