Journalists’ services hailed

The yeomen services rendered by journalists of North Andhra during the devastating Hudhud cyclone, which hit Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts on October 12, 2014, were hailed by the speakers at a meeting organised by the Uttarandhra Journalists’ Front (UJF) here on Friday.

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju, Police Commissioner Amit Garg, GVMC Commissioner Pravin Kumar and GITAM University Vice-Chancellor G. Subrahmanyam recalled the contribution of journalists, particularly cameramen and reporters of electronic media channels, who rushed out onto the roads risking their own lives to show live pictures of the storm and the devastation to people across India and the globe. UJF general secretary N. Nageswara Rao and AP Electronic Media Journalists’ Association representative R. Ramachandra Rao spoke.
