A ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ centre was opened at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Complex at Dondaparthy here.
Jeevan Pramaan is an Aadhar-based Digital Life Certificate for pensioners. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 10, 2014.
One of the major requisites for the pensioners post their retirement from service, is to provide life certificates to the authorised pension disbursing agencies like banks and post offices. In order to get this life certificate the pensioner has to present personally before the Pension Disbursing Agency.
This very requirement of personally being present often becomes a major hurdle and it causes a lot of hardship and unnecessary inconvenience for the aged who cannot always be in a position to present themselves in front of the designated authority to secure their life certificate, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division M. Yelvender Yadav.
The individual pensioner need not present himself/ herself in front of the authorised officers. Digital life certificate can be generated even from home. The only need is an Internet connection and biometric devices.
How to get Jeevan Pramaan certificate
The pensioner can visit Jeevan Praman center and provide his/her Aadhaar number, mobile no. PPO number, Bank account number, Branch details like IFSC, name and address.
Pensioner should enroll and biometrically authenticate himself/herself. The pensioner will receive Pramaan ID through SMS on his/her mobile no. He/she would be able to download computer-generated life certificate from jeevanpramaan.gov.in using Pramaan ID or Aadhar number. Pension disbursing agency (Bank) has to be informed about Jeevan Pramaan ID. Individual has to register once and later he/she can generate Jeevan Pramaan using Biometric authentication.
