Isolated heavy rain likely

The southwest monsoon has been active over coastal Andhra Pradesh. The trough on sea level running from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh persists. An upper air cyclonic circulation, extending between 4.5 and 5.8 km above the mean sea level, lies over Rayalaseema and neighbourhood.

Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and Nellore of coastal A.P. till Thursday morning, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Heavy rain is also very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool of Rayalaseema during the same period.

The chief amounts of rainfall during the last 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday are: Tuni (East Godavari) 9, Tanuku (West Godavari) 8, Gudivada (Krishna) 8, Merakamudidam (Vizianagaram) 7, Kaikalur (Krishna) 7, Bhimadole (West Godavari) 7, Therlam (Vizianagaram) 6, Eluru (West Godavari) 6, Lam (Guntur) 6, Atchampet (Guntur) 6, Avanigada (Krishna) 5, Guntur 5, Mangalagiri (Guntur) 5, Narsapuram (West Godavari) 5, Elamanchili (Visakhapatnam) 5, Tadepalligudem (West Godavari) 4, Mundlamuru (Prakasam) 4, Karamchedu (Prakasam) 3, Tenali (Guntur) 3, Garividi (Vizianagaram) 3, Ichchapuram (Srikakulam) 3, Ranasthalam (Srikakulam) 3, Pathapatnam (Srikakulam) 3, Santhamaguluru (Prakasam) 3, Narsipatnam (Visakhapatnam) 2, Bapatla (Guntur) 2, Nandigama (Krishna) 2, Ongole (Prakasam) 2, Sompeta (Srikakulam) 2 and Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram) 2.

Rayalaseema: Nagari (Chittoor) 7 and Guntakal (Anantapur) 5 .
