INTUC activists took a pledge on Sunday on the occasion of 69{+t}{+h}Foundation Day to fight against anti-labour policies being pursued by the BJP-led NDA Government.

The activists, representing various industrial units and government entities, garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near GVMC and held meetings at Malkapuram and Gajuwaka.

Addressing the activists, city Congress president Behera Bhaskar Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trying to amend the labour laws at the behest of the corporates.

INTUC district president Mantri Rajasekhar said by changing the labour laws, the social security measures extended to the working class and unorganised sector were being removed. He said they were trying to bring all the unions under one roof to fight against “anti-people” policies of the NDA and Telugu Desam governments like disinvestment of profit-making public sectors.
