The Intermediate public examinations commenced on a peaceful note on Wednesday with no untoward incidents reported from the district.

The examination was held at 111 centres in the district including 29 government junior colleges, 10 aided junior colleges, three model junior colleges, five APSWJC and seven APTWJC colleges besides 54 private unaided junior colleges, a cooperative junior college and two private vocational junior colleges.

Candidates prayed at temples before going to take the examination. A large number of students thronged the Sampath Vinayaka temple at Asilmetta to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesh.

The authorities initiated measures to prevent mass copying. Closed circuit cameras were set up at 16 centres in the Agency areas, which were identified as ‘problematic’. RTC operated special buses.
