The Government was keen on encouraging industrial development of the State and all steps would be taken to create a conducive climate for it, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said.
Briefing the media after the maiden Cabinet meeting here on Thursday, he said that the Government would be taking all steps to increase the power supply to ensure a 24-hour uninterrupted quality power supply to the industrial customers.
The Government was keen on seeing the completion of LNG terminal at Gangavaram Port as it would enable the State augment its revenues by Rs. 3,000 crore annually. Further, the LNG terminal would also help promote downstream industries, he said. The expansion of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to 8 million tonnes would also help the State increase its tax revenue.
The Government was keen on completion of the PCPIR project as the region was best suited for these industries, he said. Expressing unhappiness at the efforts being made to scuttle it, he said it would be speeded up. All these would help put the State’s revenues on an even keel and make up for the loss of revenue due to bifurcation, he added.
A Cabinet sub committee would be set up to draw up a uniform policy for helping private ports like the Gangavaram Port set up additional facilities such as the upcoming LNG terminal, he said.
The Government would take up with the Centre on speeding up the creation of ITIR in Visakhapatnam, he said.
All steps would be taken to promote establishment of film industry here, he added.
