Industries pay rich tributes to B R Ambedkar

Industries in the city paid rich tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the occasion of his 123 birth anniversary on Monday.

At a programme at Ukkunagaram, RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director P. Madhusudan garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar amid chanting of ‘Jai Bheem’ from large number of participants at the sprawling Ambedkar Park at Ukkunagaram.

Senior officials including Umesh Chandra, Director (Operations), Y.R. Reddy, Director (Personnel), P.C. Mohapatra, Director (Projects), P. Ramulu Executive Director (Automation), deputy general managers M.V.R. Prasad, B. Nayak and others were present along with Steel Executive Association president Madhav Rao, union leaders D. Adhinarayana, N. Rama Rao, Mantri Rajsekhar, Bayye Mallayya, S. Appala Raju, V. Srinivas Rao, J. Ayodhyaram, Gandham Venkat Rao, Y. Mastanappa and B. Pydiraju.

As part of Ambedkar Jayanti, NTPC Simhadri organised a meeting where Group General Manager A.K. Samanta spoke on his ideals and contributions for the welfare of the marginalised sections.

General Manager (Projects) Santhosh James, GM (Operations and Maintenance) S. Narendra, SC & ST Association president Ravi Kumar and general secretary B.J. Sudhakar were present.

Dredging Corporation of India Chairman and Managing Director Capt. D.K. Mohanty and others paid rich tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and recalled his contribution as a social reformer at a function here.

Commodore P. Jayapal, Director (Operation & Technical) and S. Vasudeva Rao, Chief Vigilance Officer, P. Venkatratnam, B. Hanuma Naik, general secretary and president of DCI SC & ST Welfare Association, spoke.

Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana garlanded the statue at Old Jail Road junction and paid rich tributes to his vision in giving a Constitution to India that ensured several rights to its citizens and the welfare of the downtrodden.
