Indo-Canadian Chamber delegation for city: Ganta

It will participate in a business session

A 60-member delegation from the Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, consisting of Ministers, MPs, several businessmen, including of Telugu origin, and others, is visiting the city on January 18, Minister for Investments, Infrastructure and Ports Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here on Tuesday.

The delegation would discuss with the State and district officials and local industrialists, businessmen and entrepreneurs about investment in the areas of IT, tourism, petro-chemical, pharma, SEZs, multi-product export zones and urban area development. The delegation after reaching here from Hyderabad on January 18 morning, would participate in a business session at a hotel on the beach road and later visit places in and around the city and at Bheemunipatnam.

It would also visit GIFT on GITAM University campus.

The ICCC delegation’s visit would help to improve the city’s industries and other areas and the district officials were asked to prepare a power point presentation to effectively explain Visakhapatnam’s importance and the advantages of the city and the opportunities it provides, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said at a press conference.

Collector Solomon Arokia Raj and Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana were also present.

YLP's initiative

\The delegation is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad, Pune, Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad and agreed to include Visakhapatnam also in its itinerary after its members like Bezawada Surya and Jarabandi Rajasekhar along with Director of Indian Cultural Centre of Consulate General of India in Canada Y. Lakshmi Prasad impressed the delegation about Visakhapatnam and the huge opportunities it provides, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.

Some members of the delegation are president of ICCC Naval Bajaj, Ministers of State for Sports and Multiculturalism Bal Gosal and Tim Uppal respectively, MP Devinder Shory, Senator Asha Seth, Candidate MP Shama Chopra, Government official Raymond C. Chan, while many persons of AP origin, like Mr. Surya, Mr. Rajasekhar, Chanchlani Vasu, Chukkapalli Satish, Nagabhairava Ramakrishna, Rayavaram Naga Niranjan Reddy, who are running companies and social worker Mallampalli Ramana Rao.
