‘Inculcate sporting habit in students’

NTPC Simhadri Group General Manager P.K. Bondriya on Thursday called for inculcating sporting habit in the students to build a strong and healthy nation.

He was addressing students and teachers/ head masters of various schools at Deepanjalinagar township near Parawada. “Sporting habit in the students who are future citizens of our country will help build a healthy society and a strong nation,” he said.

He spoke after distributing sports items to the children of government schools in Paravada mandal. At a function held at Shakuntalam auditorium, he reiterated the commitment of NTPC Simhadri to promote sports. He handed over sports and games material worth Rs.5.39 lakh to 63 mandal parishad primary, upper primary, 14 zilla parishad high schools and four BC welfare hostels in Parawada mandal.

The items include volley-balls with net, throw balls, tenny-coit rings, skipping ropes, carom-boards and badminton rackets with shuttlecocks.

Parawada Mandal Education Officer V. Chitti Babu appreciated efforts of NTPC management and thanked for the supports extended for promoting education in the mandal.

Among others, General Manager (Operations) R.P.J. Stephen, GM (Tech. Services) H.S. Sahu, AGM (HR) V. Shiva Prasad, DGM (CSR) K.K.M. Naidu and others were present.
