Important files stolen from district court

Miscreants gained entry into the district Court complex here and stole about 75 files from an almyrah late on Monday night. The miscreants cut open the window grills of the court room where the files were stored and took away the files from the safe. The II Additional Senior Civil Judge P. Pundarikakshayya lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday.

Police Commissioner N. Sambasiva Rao, top police officials and Clues team officials visited the court and gathered evidence.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Brahma Reddy said that most of the files pertained to civil cases that were scheduled to come up for hearing during the next few days.

He suspected the hand of some staff behind the theft.

Two Town CI SSV Prasada Rao said that besides the files a typewriter and an inverter were also stolen.
