Import terminal at Visakhapatnam port ready ahead of schedule

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group, has completed the Rs.400 crore steam coal import terminal at Visakhapatnam port, eight months ahead of schedule, marking an entry on the East Coast of India.

The Adani Vizag Coal Terminal Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of APSEZ, had entered into a concession agreement with the Visakhapatnam Port Trust to set up a steam coal handling facility with a capacity of 6.4 million tonnes a year in March 2011 with a completion deadline of August 2014.

APSEZ Executive Director Karan Adani said, setting a record in completion of the Adani Vizag steam coal terminal project ahead of schedule was a proud moment for the group
