Vote for Narendra Modi will bring in stability, communal peace, respect for all religions and put the country on the path to progress, former MP and senior TDP leader M.V.V.S. Murthy has said.
At a press conference here, he said some had robbed the country of its tax-payers money indulging in scams from mining to sand. He brushed aside misgivings over BJP-TDP striking an alliance.
The TDP respected Muslims and laid foundation for their progress during NTR and Chandrababu Naidu rule but during the last 10 years the work was disturbed. BJP Lok Sabha nominee K. Haribabu would represent the constituency well rather than outsiders and if Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar won from the South Assembly constituency, the credit would go to Muslims, he said.
Mr. Ganesh Kumar accused the Congress of vote bank politics. He wanted MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao to come out with a white paper on housing during his term. The port trust should have trustees from the minorities and affected people to solve the problem of pollution rather than trying to shift them, he demanded.
Former MLA S.A. Rahaman said shadikhana and idgah were constructed during the TDP regime and employment was provided under the ‘Roshni’ scheme. He said secularism was not speaking in favour of one religion and against another but caring for all. Communal disturbances were witnessed only during the Congress regime whereas the TDP always ensured a peaceful atmosphere.
Nasim of TDP minority cell said barring Wakf Board Chairman which anyway had to be given to Muslims, MLA, City Congress or corporator posts were not given to them.
