Corruption is the root cause of all problems in society, he says
The overcast sky, cool breeze, and showers provided welcome relief from sweltering summer heat as TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu set out on his ‘Vastunna meekosam’ padayatra from Chandrayyapalem village near here on Thursday evening.
People seemed eager to hear as to what Mr. Naidu came to tell them. On the contrary, he gave them an opportunity to explain the problems of their respective villages and vowed to solve them, if he was voted back to power.
“I do not have any problems and don’t crave for power. I am touched by your plight under the ‘corrupt Congress’ rule and I promise to bring light into your lives. All I need is your support,” he told the villagers.
“A widow had died in our village as she had no money and there was no one to support her. We do not know who will come to power. Schemes for the poor should be continued, irrespective of which party is in power and the Opposition should do its bit in this regard,” said a youth. Mr. Naidu said that he understood the anguish of the youth, but he cut him short saying he had to address some more meetings. He promised to give him more time another day. Expressing concern over the plight of the poor, he said: “On one side the poor do not have a roof over their heads and on the other corrupt politicians such as Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy had constructed palaces in Hyderabad and Bangalore. This had evoked criticism from a judge in the Enforcement Directorate.” Saying that corruption was the root cause of all the problems in society, he promised to give a clean administration.
