HPCL holds workshop on clean fuel

The importance of hydro processing technology useful for production of ultra low sulphur clean fuel Pan India by April 2017 was discussed at a workshop organised by HPCL Visakh Refinery .

Eminent hydro processing technology experts across India including former executive director-R&D of IOCL R.P. Verma, IIP former IIP scientist Muralidhar, former EIL General Manager Varthika Shukla and AGM R. Maiti spoke on fundamentals, designing, trouble-shooting in hydro processing technology and future challenges.

HPCL Visakh Refinery Executive Director G. Sri Ganesh in his inaugural speech elaborated the importance of hydro processing technology in helping production of cleaner fuels to ensure lower emissions during combustion of fuels in automobile engines. Bharat Stage IV fuel’s specification for HSD and MS has to be implemented across the country from April 2017. Bharat Stage IV fuels are ultra low sulphur clean fuels used in automobiles and production of these ultra clean fuels is made possible through application of hydro processing technology.
