‘Houses for Hudhud victims by Oct. 12’

Marking World Habitat Day on October 2 one lakh houses would be inaugurated, AP State Housing Corporation Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Kantilal Dande said at a meeting of officials of the North Coastal districts on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister was closely monitoring the construction of houses for Hudhud victims and they should be completed by October 12, he said. At a meeting with Collector Pravin Kumar in the afternoon, Mr. Dande said orders should be issued soon for construction of 22,000 houses sanctioned for the Assembly constituencies in the district.

Mr Pravin Kumar orders had to be issued for 6,000 houses and it would be done by September 15. Grounding of the 890 houses would also be completed by October 15. House-warming for 12,000 houses would be planned for October, he said. District Manager Housing Prasad, Housing Department official P Sriram and senior engineers Ch. Mallikarjuna Rao and K. Venkata Reddy participated.
