After failing in their attempt to loot a bank, depressed burglars entered a house opposite to the bank and decamped with around 40 gm of gold ornaments at Haripalem area of Atchutapuram mandal in the wee hours of Tuesday. The incident came to light when the family members noticed the burglary and informed the police.

B. Apparao, Sub-Inspector of Police, Atchutapuram Police Station, said that burglars first tried to loot the Visakha Grameena Vikas Bank at Haripalem. After failing in their attempt to remove the grills of the main door of the bank, they targeted a locked house opposite the bank.

They entered the house by breaking the lock and decamped with 40 gm of gold ornaments.

The inmates of the house who returned in the morning found that the door was open and the jewellery was missing.
